From young middle school admirers to growing into companions as adults, our history of friendship, growth and lots of love has finally brought us to our awaited wedding day!

DaShawn:

A young stallion of a man child was new to the school and a gaaaawwwwjuuus lil lady caught my eye walking through the halls. Ever since then I had a huge crush on her that just wouldn't go away. Although we never dated in school for various reasons, the brief romantic and impactful moments we did share throughout that time planted a seed for what bloomed into our compassionate love we share with each other today. Reuniting with my school crush who became my favorite person in the world was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I didn't see it coming, but I thank God and I'm grateful that our story has brought us together forever.

Kayla:

Middle school Kayla had no idea just how important this new kid in school would mean to her. One of my favorite stories of when we were in middle school was when DaShawn came back to Kennedale from a different school and a friend of mine wanted to ask him to the movies. She was nervous so I went up to him and asked for her. Later on, DaShawn tells me that he remembers me coming up to him and he got so excited that his beautiful crush was coming to talk to him, but he was instantly disappointed that I was talking to him for a friend. We continued to see each other and hangout in the same friend group. DaShawn always made it known he liked me. I liked him too. I couldn't help but smile when talking to him and I would get excited to see him in the halls. He was super nice to me and sweet! He was also very flirty, but always gentleman. I was flirty with him too. Though we never dated then, each interaction we had was just a glimpse of what was to come all these years later.

It wouldn't be until May 2019 that we would reconnect and begin our amazing journey together. From our first date at Lazy Dog restaurant, I knew I was hooked. DaShawn is the man I always prayed for, and I thank God every day for bringing us back together when it was right. Forever with you began the minute you walked back into my life and life only gets better as our story continues.
